The Bagg Lunch | Goffstown NH Diner

The Bagg Lunch in Goffstown is a lovely place for a breakfast-all-day menu, and also a great lunch. On Fridays, they feature seafood and they’re open until 7pm which is the only day of the week they’re open for dinner.  The menu has everything you could want for breakfast such as eggs any way imaginable (I love the carnivore omelette), pancakes as big as your head, pan fries, toast, and bottomless coffee. The lunch menu has a variety of sandwiches, burgers, soups, and homemade entrees which vary with the weekly/daily specials.

We stopped by on a Friday at lunch to try the seafood we’ve been hearing so much about. Dave ordered the fisherman’s platter which had lightly fried scallops, haddock, and clams over a giant pile of steak fries. He declared it “perfectly fried.”

I went with a lighter option for lunch and chose the Quiche of the Day which was spinach, along with a cup of haddock chowder. Chowder is only available Thursdays and Fridays.  The chowder was hearty and thick, with nice chunks of fish and potatoes.

Dave is always looking for a good place for fried seafood, and most of the time ends up with a “meh” reaction. But he deemed the Fresh Fish Friday at Bagg Lunch as “excellent” so I know we’ll be back before too long!  Thank you, Bagg Lunch!

Eating and Exploring in New England & Beyond

One thing you’ll always see on the table at a NC barbecue spot is a bottle of @texaspetesauces. If you don’t know, this is not a product from Texas but a North Carolina product. My whole life, I have never really seen anybody put anything on their bbq other than Texas Pete.

Fun fact about me: in the 4th grade in Kernersville NC we had a guy from the Texas Pete family come to speak to my 4th grade class. This would have been 1987 or 88. Must have been great marketing, because I never forgot it.

Lexington Barbecue is not even on IG as far as I can find but they are world famous and I’m glad I got to stop by last week. Shown here: Chopped bbq plate with red slaw, fries, and hushpuppies. #ncbbq #lexingtonbbq #texaspete #bbq #barbecue
