Queen City Cupcakes Signature Cakes

It has always been a pleasure to work with Queen City Cupcakes over the years. I’ve been lucky enough to work with Chelsea a couple of times since 2013 and it’s always been such a pleasant experience. One time we got together and shot a bunch of wedding cupcake towers at Fratello’s, and another time I photographed their brand new shop A Pop of Color when it first opened. Currently, the original QCC location has moved a few doors down Elm St. and merged with A Pop of Color. These days it’s just called Queen City Cupcakes and Gift Shop, and they’re doing what they have always done, just all in one place and it’s fabulous.

Recently they needed some help with photos for their new line of Signature Cakes. They’re taking their most popular cupcake flavors and scaling them into little cakes that serve up to 6 people. I was so happy that she brought me eight of them to photograph here in my studio!

Eating and Exploring in New England & Beyond

One thing you’ll always see on the table at a NC barbecue spot is a bottle of @texaspetesauces. If you don’t know, this is not a product from Texas but a North Carolina product. My whole life, I have never really seen anybody put anything on their bbq other than Texas Pete.

Fun fact about me: in the 4th grade in Kernersville NC we had a guy from the Texas Pete family come to speak to my 4th grade class. This would have been 1987 or 88. Must have been great marketing, because I never forgot it.

Lexington Barbecue is not even on IG as far as I can find but they are world famous and I’m glad I got to stop by last week. Shown here: Chopped bbq plate with red slaw, fries, and hushpuppies. #ncbbq #lexingtonbbq #texaspete #bbq #barbecue
