I first discovered the Heathmount Hotel on Tripadvisor when I was looking for places to stay in Inverness, and I was immediately smitten by its cute pub appearance, enthusiastic reviews, and of course the promise of an amazing included breakfast. Sounded like a winner to me! I was glad that I booked many months in advance, because it fills up quickly. There are only 8 guest rooms. I chose one of the luxurious four-poster rooms, and it was perfect. This is room #1, where I stayed for three nights.
This room had everything I needed, including tea and coffee, a Tunnock’s Tea Cake each day as well as bottled water. I enjoyed being in a local neighborhood outside of the tourist area of Inverness, which was only a quick 5 minute walk down a (steep) hill. Even though there is a busy pub downstairs, in my three nights there it never bothered me much and the noise doesn’t go on very late.
The bathroom was also beautiful and modern:
One of the best aspects of this hotel is the amazing breakfast! It is included for all guests, and consists of a buffet of fruits, cereals and toasts, as well as an order off the hot breakfast menu, cooked to order. The Highland Breakfast is absolutely delicious, and the stornoway black pudding was outstanding! I looked forward to this hearty start to the day each morning.
Another advantage to this hotel was the convenience of having a pub right downstairs! I found an ale that I really enjoyed: Cairngorm Wildcat. I had quite a few pints of that goodness during my stay. Give it a try!
