An Evening at Stash Box | Manchester NH

Yesterday was my 47th birthday and our 21st wedding anniversary so we went out to eat! We actually haven’t been to that many restaurants this year so I wanted to try the new-ish spot StashBox on Elm Street. They didn’t take reservations when they first opened last year, but they do now. This made it so much more appealing and easy for us. Us early birds were there at 5:00 and had the whole place to ourselves for a while.

The narrow interior has low lighting, with delicious exposed brick walls that you find in downtown Manchester. The tinned ceiling tiles are painted black and the pretty Tiffany style hanging lamps above each table do little to impart light throughout the restaurant. This is a restaurant for hanging out with friends and family and enjoying food, not for taking photos! But you know I’m gonna try.

Still, there is one table by the window facing the street, and that is where we were lucky enough to be seated! And we were early enough (at 5:00) that we still had enough daylight to probably be able to get photos of all our dishes. I really lucked out.

Signature Cocktails

“Religion & Politics:” What a cool name for one of their signature cocktails. Gin or Mezcal, Lemon, Orange, Carrot and Ancho. You know I got it with mezcal, and it took me right back to my week in Oaxaca earlier this year. Delicious! It didn’t really taste like carrots but the color sure was a giveaway.

Small Plates

Pork Belly Rangoons: Four large, crispy pork belly rangoons, filled with caramelized onions and cream cheese, topped with Korean bbq sauce, and crispy fried shallots. Yum!! There were so many different flavors going on here.

Large Plates

The smash burger was off the charts! Two cheesy patties, caramelized onion, shredded lettuce, stash sauce and house pickles. It was soooo good.

My entree was the Coconut Curry Salmon. Seared salmon, coconut curry rice, zesty slaw, and cilantro basil vinaigrette. Amazing! I need this cilantro sauce in my life.

We really enjoyed our fantastic meal and would happily go back to try some other things!
