Hotel and Restaurant Photography at The Wolfeboro Inn

The Wolfeboro Inn is a popular destination in all seasons, but it’s especially known in the summer months as a beautiful wedding venue on Lake Winnipesaukee. Nestled in the heart of busy Main Street, the Wolfeboro Inn boasts beautiful guest rooms along with a restaurant, the historic Wolfe’s Tavern. I’ve been lucky enough to photograph at least three weddings at the Wolfeboro Inn that I can think of, so it was quite a treat to be asked to photograph their new renovations.

Guest Room Renovations at the Wolfeboro Inn

Renovations are still ongoing at the time of this post, but the hotel management was eager to show off what they have done so far. I popped in to take some refreshed shots of some of their guest rooms. This was the third hotel that I photographed last month, and I am absolutely loving this new part of my work.

The bridal suite, room 300, got a beautiful makeover with updated paint, a new wooden floor to replace the old carpet, and new bed linens. The look is fresh and light.

Food and Beverage Photos at Wolfe’s Tavern

Like the other hotels in the Hay Creek portfolio that I’ve photographed, The Wolfeboro Inn also has an on-site chef driven restaurant. Wolfe’s Tavern is in the oldest part of the house, and worn and curved floorboards reflect over 200 years of history. They provided me a range of breakfast foods and dinner menu items to photograph. The tavern is rustic with low ceilings covered with pewter mugs, and the low (artificial) light was so atmospheric and full of character. Unfortunately that’s not ideal for food photography. There are a couple of tables by the windows at the front where the natural light was perfect and it did just fine.

I have to admit, right off the bat this gorgeous burger was my favorite subject. The pewter tavern mug of beer was the perfect little thing to put in the background. I love how the window light was dimensional enough that the play of light and shadows retained the cozy, rustic look of the tavern.
