Charlie’s Takeout | Goffstown Hidden Gem

A couple of months ago, I wrote about the beautiful handmade empanadas at Charlie’s in Goffstown. Recently, I had the chance to photograph a lunch takeout order for my family that includes some of our other favorites: chicken tenders, subs, and gyros.

Charlie’s famous chicken tenders were recently voted #1 in New Hampshire by a readers’ poll by WMUR-TV. This is an amazing honor for a little takeout shop right here in Goffstown. Their tenders come in a few different flavors: plain, coconut, ritz, buffalo, Italian, and more! Sometimes they even have Doritos or Captain Crunch breading as daily specials. They come in 6, 9, or 12 pieces with the option to add on fries. They offer a variety of dipping sauces as well.

Charlie’s offers a wide variety of hot and cold subs and wraps. Here, we have the ham & cheese sub, and we also really like their steak and cheese.

The gyros at Charlie’s are really delicious. And they’re huge. I always get the fries on the side, otherwise it’s just too gigantic to eat!

Recently Charlie’s moved into a new Goffstown location near the Manchester line, in Pinardville! It’s in the old Cote’s Diner location, and they have really spruced it up! They now have indoor seating as well as a café and bakery, with grab-and-go items. Weekly specials include different kinds of pizzas and subs/wraps.

Eating and Exploring in New England & Beyond

One thing you’ll always see on the table at a NC barbecue spot is a bottle of @texaspetesauces. If you don’t know, this is not a product from Texas but a North Carolina product. My whole life, I have never really seen anybody put anything on their bbq other than Texas Pete.

Fun fact about me: in the 4th grade in Kernersville NC we had a guy from the Texas Pete family come to speak to my 4th grade class. This would have been 1987 or 88. Must have been great marketing, because I never forgot it.

Lexington Barbecue is not even on IG as far as I can find but they are world famous and I’m glad I got to stop by last week. Shown here: Chopped bbq plate with red slaw, fries, and hushpuppies. #ncbbq #lexingtonbbq #texaspete #bbq #barbecue
