Hyatt Regency Savannah

Hyatt Regency Savannah GA

I spent early November in the beautiful city of Savannah, Georgia! I had a wonderful time exploring the walkable historic district. I did not rent a car, and instead just wandered around by foot among all the beautiful squares. Of course I also took two food tours with Savannah Taste Experience which were excellent. Savannah is a foodie’s perfect destination!

I booked my three night stay at the Savannah Hyatt Regency using points at 12,000 points per night for a standard room. Thankfully, due to my Discoverist status, they upgraded me to a City View room which gave me a beautiful view up the Savannah River!

With my (lowly) Hyatt Discoverist status, I was happy to receive these two large bottles of water.

With a city view room, you are greeted each day with an incredible sunrise over the Savannah River.

There is a full service restaurant in the lobby, as well as a quick service cafe. One morning I enjoyed a nice breakfast of biscuits & gravy. They were just okay, but the ones I had the next morning at B. Matthew’s were so much better.

If you take the elevator to the Garden Terrace, you can enjoy this fantastic view of River Street and the bridge.

From your hotel room to the heart of River Street is simply a matter of going downstairs! The bottom floor exit opens right at the street level waterfront.

I would certainly recommend the Savannah Hyatt Regency for a stay in beautiful downtown Savannah. Its proximity to all the fantastic restaurants, the riverfront, and the gorgeous city scenery is unbeatable.

Eating and Exploring in New England & Beyond

One thing you’ll always see on the table at a NC barbecue spot is a bottle of @texaspetesauces. If you don’t know, this is not a product from Texas but a North Carolina product. My whole life, I have never really seen anybody put anything on their bbq other than Texas Pete.

Fun fact about me: in the 4th grade in Kernersville NC we had a guy from the Texas Pete family come to speak to my 4th grade class. This would have been 1987 or 88. Must have been great marketing, because I never forgot it.

Lexington Barbecue is not even on IG as far as I can find but they are world famous and I’m glad I got to stop by last week. Shown here: Chopped bbq plate with red slaw, fries, and hushpuppies. #ncbbq #lexingtonbbq #texaspete #bbq #barbecue
